Al-Arabi managed to score two goals in the last 15 minutes against Al-Qadsia, to earn a record 14th Emir Cup. Al-Arabi went ahead in the 76th minute through a trademark free kick from Mohammed Chragh. Afterwards Al-Qadsia wasted golden chances to draw the game, only for Al-Arabi to score the second goal in the last minute of the match through youngster Ahmad Motar on counter attack, and end any hopes for Qadsia. Al-Kuwait club took third place.
