The new four-year deal will keep Rafa Benitez at Liverpool until 2010.
"I'm delighted to have now signed the contract. There was never going to be a problem once we reached an agreement last season, and now all the documents have been signed and sent to the club. I'm very happy at Liverpool and hope we can enjoy more success in the seasons to come.'' Rafa said.

Benitez had been on a shortlist of candidates put forward by Real Madrid to become its new coach.

Long Live The ‘RAFA-Lution’…

I’m really glad he signed on til 2010.. He is a great manager and knows his team well.. There’s no doubt that he’s done better than houllier who was really shit in the transfer market.. So far Rafa has made quite a few good signings since he came in 04..
He’s doing a good job and seems to be enjoying it..

Great Manager. Great Man.
And dare I say again – “Long Live The ‘RAFA-Lution'”

Indeed. Although I liked Houllier, he was shitty in some areas. Also, the fact that he’s champion with Lyon doesnt mean anything, as he inherited the team. In fact, I think he will start ruining the team by selling stars like essien(already sold) and Diarra and buying crap african players.

Anyway, I just hope Rafa signs at least one good right winger and one good striker. The fact that Benitez is missing out on some names because he’s being priced out, really pisses me off.
