But Chelsea will have to pay

And I mean pay big time. Milan have announced that Andriy Shevchenko will leave the Italian giants before the start of next season.

Milan official Adriano Galliani attempted to convince the former European Footballer of the Year to remain but without success. “I’m leaving for family reasons,” stated the Chelsea target. “I want to thank the club for what they have done for me. I would like to point out that there were no problems in our relationship and this isn’t about money. I am sorry, as I saw the look in the eyes of the fans and the many messages that have come in. My wife has nothing to do with this, as we made the decision together for the good of my family.

Galliani, in day-to-day control of the club owned by former Italian prime minister Silvio Berlusconi, said: 'It's a victory of the English language over the Italian language.'

That was apparently a reference to Shevchenko's American wife who reportedly wants a move to England so that Shevchenko and little son can learn English. Bitch.

Galliani also mentioned that Chelsea will have to pay a high price to take Shevchenko, but we all know that Chelsea's piggy bank doesn't have limits. A Drogba+cash exchange deal is also possible.

The rest..

Liverpool have joined the race to sign Crystal Palace striker Andy Johnsson with a late bid. Wigan have already had their 8.5m offer accepted by Palace. Bolton and Everton are also said to have bid for the player.

Kuyt have postponed his desicion on his future untill the end of the World Cup 2006.

Benitez has announced that Luis Garcia will not leave Liverpool, in response to the rumours that said the player's wife was pressuring the player to return to Spain.

Morientes is still not officialy a Valencia player (player wants some kind of pay-off). Updated.

Danish legend Michael Laudrup would be keen to become the next coach of Real Madrid, according to his agent.

Reports just in are suggesting that Aston Villa's top scorer Milan Baros is a target for Monaco.

Lyon chairman Jean-Michel Aulas has revealed that Chelsea will not sell striker Didier Drogba to the French outfit.

Inter have this afternoon dismissed speculation that they are preparing to sell star striker Adriano this summer. The Brazilian again admitted this week that he is far from happy at life with the Nerazzurri and opened the door for a summer exit.

Bitch? Well if it’s true that Shevo’s wife so much as influenced to make a move in order for their son to learn English; well atleast you could say that was a considerate and maternal action to take.

It’s there life. Anyway… I don’t really care. But now that Chelsea got Ballack and Shevo’ together under their belt; that’ll be interesting.

told u he wanted to learn english, a move to the USA would have been better, The MLS is the place to be for Sheva, i am sure his wife would prefer new york or LA over london 😛

i have this feeling that his injury is bigger than what is revealed, and thats why milan are cashing in, fuck italian football i hate it and i am glad that its biggest star is leaving, but not to CHELSKI!!!

As much as i’m fond of Shevchenko, it was a lame excuse to move. Considering the millions he earns, he could have hired a tutor for himself and his son, or admitted him in an english school!

Yazeed, yeah i didnt mind him moving, but not to chelsea :/
Anyway, he’ll probabaly end in the MLS once he’s 33 or something.

Go to the states? Please. He’s not that desperate.
Besides, the UK has a special flavour. Passion.
So it’s a win-win situation for Sheva and his family, who gives a toss or two about the fans. ;P

And I say, good for Chelsea; they whopped a” and wanna raise the bar. It’s only better for the EPL.

Going to the states when he's retiring has nothing to do with being desprate, in fact it's the logical move considering that his wife is american, and probably will bitch about it.

Playing for Portsmouth when you're 33, that's desperate.
