French midfielder Robert Pires has left Arsenal and signed a two-year deal with Villarreal. Pires wanted a 2-year-deal but Wenger's policy is only to offer 1-year deals to players over 30.

The player is quoted on the official Villarreal website as saying: "I am delighted to agree this deal with Villarreal and hope I will be able to help them build on their impressive achievements of the last two years."

Wenger only signs 30+ yr old players for 1year contracts, I think that didn’t fly with Pires.
Oh well. Pires contributed in making a flavor for Arsenal.

Wenger is cheap 😛

He has a degree in Business/Finance something. He was given a exceptional budget to use on whatever; and he used under half of the sum total, yet got the job done.
