Dimitar Berbatov Spurs sign Berbatov

Tottenham have agreed a fee of £10.9million with Bayer Leverkusen for striker Dimitar Berbatov. The signing, which was announced on the stock exchange, is subject to a work permit and if the application is successful will see the Bulgaria international become a Tottenham player on July 1. The 25-year-old, who was the second highest scorer in the Bundesliga in the recently concluded season with 21 goals in 34 games, has agreed personal terms. Berbatov has also had a prolific international career, scoring 31 goals in 50 senior internationals, and was voted Bulgarian player of the year in 2002, 2004 and 2005. It looks like Defoe will be available for transfer.

Favalli joins AC Milan

Defender Giuseppe Favalli joined AC Milan from Inter Milan on Wednesday. The 34-year-old left back signed a two-year contract. Favalli played for Inter the past two seasons, after 12 years with Lazio. Like Milan need more old farts?

While Inter get Dacourt

French midfielder Olivier Dacourt says he is leaving AS Roma for Serie A rivals Inter Milan. "I have signed with Inter for two seasons with an option for another year," Dacourt told French sports daily L'Equipe on Wednesday. The 31-year-old Frenchman joined AS Roma from Leeds United in 2003. Dacourt is not in France's World Cup squad and has not been called up by coach Raymond Domenech since he won his 21st cap in a World Cup qualifier in Cyprus on Oct. 13, 2004.
